Mutual Aid Philly

Mutual Aid Philly is an entirely volunteer run, community powered group that provides direct aid, neighbor to neighbor, in South Philly and Center City in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. The group was created to provide support in response to COVID-19 and prioritizes outreach to groups most affected by the health and economic impacts of the pandemic. We primarily focus on disabled and chronically ill, undocumented, people of color, LGBTQ, and low-income individuals and families.

Request Mutual Aid

Mutual Aid Philly offers support for cash assistance, grocery shopping, prescription pickup, masks, prepared meals, emotional support, transportation, and other items. We alternate weeks between cash requests and requests for everything else (groceries, household supplies, prescription pickup etc).

We open our form for requests every Monday at 12pm. We can only take a limited number of requests each week. We close our form once we have gotten the requests we can take for the week, usually within a few hours. You can also request by phone at 215-798-0222 on Monday beginning at 12pm.

Offer Mutual Aid

Volunteers are essential to our work. Volunteers help with supply runs, donations, making masks, preparing meals, transportation, and emotional support. If you’d like to volunteer with us, sign up below.

Our most pressing need is donations to help us offer financial assistance and pay for the items our community members need. All donations go directly to community members. We keep a public spreadsheet of transactions for transparency. You can donate on Venmo (search @mutualaidphl), Paypal or at the link below.

You can help spread the word by sharing our website, social media, and donation information with your personal networks and on social media. Find example text at the link below and help us spread the word!
